Churches enjoy top entertainment

Church members from across Skelmersdale took part in the first ever Catholic churches Pastoral Variety night. Some 200 people packed into the social club at St James’ Church in Orrell top enjoy the show. The first act played Cinderella as a six minute ‘mini pantomime’. A dozen acts followed from folk music to rock and roll, from a comedian to a Patsy Cline singer. The whole event was staged to help to cement the bonds between the parishes in the pastoral area and to raise funds. It had been decided that all proceeds would go to the HCPT – The Pilgrimage Trust charity which sends children to Lourdes.
