Ormskirk School’s athletics teams competed in the West Lancashire Schools athletics Championships at Robin Park this week.
The teams had been training hard for the competition and were confident that some good performances were possible.
Many of the Ormskirk athletes won their respective events to become the district champion in their age group.
The pupils pictured not only won their event but were able to set new district records.
Lauren Lewis set an new record in the Year 7 girls 100m and Ethan Prothero set a new mark in the Year 7 boys 100m, a record which had previously stood for 20 years!
Jessica Fitzgerald broke the girls 300m record and Ethan assisted by Patrick Cooper, George Greenall and Sam Waterson set a new time in the boys relay.
Their performances were outstanding and with excellent support from the rest of their team the school was able to win all six age groups for the first time in three years.
