Lancashire clubs are backing National Golf Month in May with great value activities to support the drive to get more people playing the game.
They will offer a wide range of opportunities to attract beginners and returners to the sport and include open days, taster session, free coaching, beginner coaching courses, and some clubs courtesy of the course.
National Golf Month is a major campaign to afford beginners and 100,000 lapsed golfers opportunities to try the game.
It’s being driven by the Bauer Media Group and the British Golf Industry Association (BGIA) and is supported by England Golf through the Get into Golf campaign, which is run by the national network of County Golf Partnerships.
Full details about Lancashire activities, as well as all the other opportunities in England, are available on the Get into Golf website www.getintogolf.org/map
The campaign aims to inspire more adults in England to take up the sport, with low-cost structured coaching with PGA professionals.
Iain Lancaster, the Lancashire County Development Officer, said: “We’re very excited about National Golf Month event because Lancashire has so much to offer beginners and returners to golf.
“Our clubs and driving ranges are passionate about encouraging people to get into golf.
“It’s a great game for everyone who enjoys friendship, fresh air and exercise.
“It can bring impressive health and wellbeing benefits and it’s the perfect sport for bringing people together. There’s never been a better time to start.”
