McFerran stars at Blackburn

Wind-cheater McFerran comes out on top at Revidge

McFerran up to third in merit chase

Lancashire player Paul McFerran called the shots in the Revidge Cannon at Blackburn where he was the only player to match level par on a wind-swept day.

The Childwall plus-one man was a model of consistency as he posted a brace of 71s to win by a shot from Bury’s Ciaran Doherty who moved 205 points clear the Cleveland Srixon Northern Order of Merit.

Accrington’s Ian Hardman was third three strokes off the pace at another county player, Joe Brice from Manchester, lost to him on countback.

Meanwhile, McFerran took his tally to 500 points in the merit chase to edge into third place.
