HOT on the heels of its second West End run, Footloose The Musical will be leaping into the LiverpoolEmpire later this month.
Maureen Nolan and Richard Grieve star in the musical spectacular, which tells the story of city boy Ren, who is forced to move to a rural backwater in America where dancing is banned.
Life in small-town Bomont is peaceful but Ren, breaking every taboo in the book, is determined to bring dance back to the heart of a town held back by the memory of a tragedy.
When Kevin Bacon starred in the hit film version over 20 years ago an icon for the 80s was born.
The actor became a global star and the film’s title track went from gold to platinum to multi-platinum in record time, spawning one of the most famous guitar intros of all time.
Style icon Sarah Jessica Parker was cast alongside Bacon, and went on to enjoy great success, most famously as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and The City.
The show thrilled West End audiences with its extended run at the Novello Theatre London in 2006 and, following a third UK tour, played a 2007 season at The Playhouse, London.
Featuring a dynamic young cast, the fast-paced show is not only packed full of amazing dance routines, but serves up some classic 80s anthems guaranteed to get you on your feet, including Holding Out For A Hero, Almost Paradise, Let’s Hear It For The Boy and of course the unforgettable hit title track Footloose!
