BEWILDERED Burscough board member Gary Wright has said he was “kept in the dark” over the managerial change at Victoria Park this week.
Wright, along with the other board members, are said not to have been consulted on the decision to sack Joey Dunn and replace him with Andy Mutch.
On Monday evening Wright received a phone call informing him that Dunn had been axed but insists that chairman Chris Lloyd did not carry out a board vote on the matter.
Wright said: “There was no consultation whatsoever about the decision and I am very angry about it. The chairman is an elected member of the board and so has no right to sack the manager without consultation. It is wrong and needs to be advertised.
“He has put Burscough Football Club back 15 years. It used to be a happy, family club but now we now struggle to get a steward.”
