Burscough FC manager Andy Mutch admits every Blue Square North game from now on is a must win

WITH six games left to rescue Burscough’s season, manager Andy Mutch says every match is a “must win.”

The Linnets dropped back into the Blue Square North bottom three on Saturday following a 3-2 defeat at Solihull Moors with Blyth Spartans moving out of the drop zone.

This weekend Mutch’s men welcome bottom placed Hucknall Town to Victoria Park knowing a win against the lowest ranked side in the division is vital in their bid for safety.

Mutch has bolstered his relegation threatened squad this week by signing 20-year-old Ray Shearwood from UniBond Premier Division Marine and Robert Vincent, 18, from Stockport County, ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Mutch said: “What were the positives from Saturday’s defeat?

"The second half performance really, in the first-half we were not at the races but in the second half the lads put in a sterling effort, we got the second goal but just could not find the equaliser.

“Saturday against Hucknall Town is a must win game, but they all are at this stage and that is the way we need to look at them.

"But this weekend is especially must win as they are down the bottom, it is certainly another six pointer situation.
