BURSCOUGH FC paid tribute to popular late youth team player Kevin Heaton.
The inquest into the 19-year-old’s death heard that Kevin had taken his own life. He was discovered on November 7 last year at his Ainsdale home.
A spokesman for Burscough FC told the Advertiser: “It was very sad to hear the news about Kevin who was a former youth team player of our club. Our thoughts are with the family.”
Last week would have been Kevin’s 20th birthday and family and friends of the popular promising footballer gathered to pay tribute to him.
His mum, Paula, also thanked everyone for their support in recent weeks, during which the coroner presiding over the father-of-one’s inquest said nothing pointed to a reason as to why he took his own life.
Even though the police conducted an inquiry into Kevin’s movements on the previous night, there was no evidence to suggest he was experiencing difficulties anywhere in his life.
Coroner Christopher Sumner gave a verdict on April 21 at North Sefton Magistrates that 19-year-old Kevin killed himself.
His parents paid tribute to all who have helped them through their tragedy.
His mother Paula said: “He had lots of energy for someone so young, such a high-spirited person.
“I’ve questioned everyone who was with him that night and there was nothing suspicious. The police took his phone to check text messages and they were happy with that.
“The whole family are devastated by what happened and what has helped me and his dad Dave so much during this difficult time is the amazing support network that we have around us.
