Burscough share 2-2 draw with Salford City

BURSCOUGH will be disappointed to have not taken all three points as they came from behind twice to claim a point at home to Salford City on Tuesday night.

For all their early pace and possession, the Linnets fell behind in the 14th minute. Nathan McDonald did well down the right and swept in a teasing cross for Danny White to stab home.

The Linnets grabbed a deserved equaliser just before the interval as Louis Mayers curled home a fine free-kick.

City retook the lead on 52 minutes as Danny Heffernan glanced a header past Tim Horn.

As it did on Saturday in the FA Trophy, Niall Cummins’s introduction caused havoc in the opposition defence and led to the Linnets equaliser in the 83rd minute. The big centre forward’s excellent header forced a corner and from the resulting ball in, Phil Clarke looped a shot into the back of the net.
