A PROFESSIONAL Trafford performance was capped off with a Shelton Payne hat-trick as they took all three points away to Burscough.
Trafford took the lead 14 minutes in. Payne surged down the right, cut inside smartly and rattled past Horn.
The visitors took 10 minutes to double their lead and it was Payne again, smashing in on the edge of the box from a deflected cross.
Burscough were stronger in the second half and David Lynch was on hand to reduce the arrears as he lashed home on 48 minutes.
The Linnets thought they’d equalised on 54 minutes when Louis Mayers headed in at the back post only to be denied by the assistant referee’s flag.
On 75 minutes, Payne secured his hat-trick and all three points as he coolly dispatched from the penalty spot.
