READERS have one week from today to vote for their favourite West Lancashire sports personalities.
The Advertiser Sports Awards will be presented in a glittering ceremony at Edge Hill University on November 3.
Advertiser readers can vote for the sports personality and junior sports personality awards, and we have drawn up a short list for you to choose from.
You have one week from today to vote for your choice as lines close at 5pm on Thursday, October 16.
The candidates for the sports personality of the year award are:
l John Armstrong, the first Ormskirk Cricket Club batsman to clock up 1,000 runs in a season since 1899.
l Michael Rimmer, Britain's top 800m runner who competed at the Beijing Olympics and trains at Edge Hill University.
l Adam Waterhouse, who skippered Ormskirk Cricket Club to the Liverpool & District Premier Cricket League title.
l Bradley Wiggins, who won two gold medals at Beijing Olympics. Bradley lives near Chorley and trains on West Lancashire's country lanes
The junior sports personality of the Year shortlist:
l Michael Ajibade, 16, an Aughton Tennis Club member who has won a host of junior titles.
l Nicola George, 16, Ormskirk Tennis Club’s rising star.
l Lydia Ashton, from Skelmersdale Dynamo rangers FC who also plays for Everton under-12s.
l Ryan Glynn, Ormskirk rugby Club under-16s player who has signed for Sale Sharks.
