AFTER celebrating his 18th birthday, teenage archery sensation Jack Grogan put on an impressive show to win his first men’s tournament while competing as an adult.
The Ashurst star clinched victory in the Gentlemen’s Recurve, held at Croesoswallt Archers in Shropshire.
The round shot was a record Double American round, in which a total of 15 dozen arrows are shot over distances of 60, 50, and 40 yards.
The teenage star has competed in this shoot for the last two years, shooting above his junior age group, to win on both occasions.
This year was no exception as he won the Gentlemen’s Recurve by a large margin for the third year in a row.
Grogan, now classed as a senior, set a new senior county record with his incredible Double American round. As well as winning the trophy for the third year in succession, he was also presented with a mounted Silver Dollar adding to the collection of Silver Dollars that he has won in previous years at the competition.
