ANYBODY who has been inspired by the fencing at the London Olympics can now try out this exciting sport for themselves.
The West Lancashire Fencing Club is running a five-week beginners course starting on Wednesday September 26 that will introduce new fencers to the sport.
The course will be run by a British Fencing Association-qualified coach and will cover blade techniques, the rules of the sport and, most importantly, how to fence safely.
There is a minimum age limit of 12 years for participants, but no upper age limit!
All the sessions will take place during the Club’s weekly meetings in the Gymnasium at Edge Hill University between 8pm and 10pm.
Further information can be obtained from Steve Evison, the club’s Chairman, who can be contacted by email at Steve.Evison@westlancsfencing.co.uk.
