BURSCOUGH will hope to unearth the next batch of football talent after announcing they are to launch an academy.
Burscough Sports Academy officially gets underway in October but the club are holding trial games later this month.
The academy is designed for 16-18 year-olds and not only does it present teenagers with the chance to develop their skills on the pitch - and hopefully launch a career in the game – but also pick up key qualifications in sports related subjects.
The Linnets hope to feed academy products into their first-team and say they have links with scouts at Liverpool, Everton and Manchester City.
”Bring your boots and follow your dream,” said Burscough chairman Martin Gilchrist.
“Just turn up and do your best and we will do our best to make you even better.
“Come and join us and see if we can help you achieve a career in football.
“Come and enjoy our trials on Sunday, September 22 and 29 at Victoria Park, Burscough.”
Burscough have lined up highly qualified coaches and educational experts.
The launch of an academy forms part of the club’s plans to revitalise the club.
Designs for a new ground and training facilities have been finalised at Victoria Park. Students will also need to meet the necessary education qualifications.
