Nethermoss Archers - John Batt
IT WAS A mixed weekend for the Nethermoss Archers who competed in the Cheshire County Bowmen's tournament at Upton near Chester.
Saturday was the Individual event that was attended by five Nethermoss Archers.
Husband and wife John and Carmen Batt shot personal best scores, with John finishing in seventh position and Carmen just missing out on the Bronze medal by being placed fourth.
Another husband and wife duo shooting were Longbow Archers Ian and Tracey Scott. Although not shooting to her usual high standard as she is experimenting with various techniques, Tracey managed to shoot well enough to collect the silver medal.
In a closely fought Gents Recurve category, Jack Grogan just missed out by one point on gold and ended up collecting the silver medal.
Day two of the shoot was a team event that also presented highest scoring archers with trophies and medals. Nethermoss entered one compound team, one longbow team and two recurve teams, each team consisting of four archers.
Although the Nethermoss teams shot well, they never made it to the medals.
Things were better when it came to the awards for the highest scores with Junior Lady Recurve Heather Hughes winning the silver medal.
Longbow Archer Tracey Scott added again to her medal collection by picking up the bronze medal for her category.
Gents recurve archer Jack Grogan collected the gold medal and a trophy for getting the highest score of the day that also was the highest score over the two day tournament regardless of category.
