SKELMERSDALE United manager Tommy Lawson revealed his delight after being handed a new five-year contract.
The Skem boss has been rewarded with the bumper deal following three seasons of steady progression and chairman Frank Hughes says he has no hesitation in offering the fresh terms to Lawson.
United also confirmed they have tied down captain Michael White on a revised two-year deal at the Skem and Ormskirk Stadium as the club look to build on the success of the last campaign which saw them lift the Lancashire Co-op Challenge Trophy and finish second in the Unibond First Division North.
Lawson’s troops were cruelly denied in the play-offs but are preparing to launch another assault on promotion to the UniBond Premier Division although can maintain slim hopes the financial demise of Newcastle Blue Star will lead to them replacing the north east side in the next league up - a decision is expected Monday.
