SKELMERSDALE UNITED manager Tommy Lawson is looking forward to leading his charges on an international venture next month – across the border into Wales.
United have revealed details of a pre-season game against CPD Glantraeth.
The Anglesey-based side play in the Huws Gray-Fitlock Cymru Alliance Football League and the match will take place on August 8.
"We are always looking for an international game, and we've got one in Wales," Lawson laughed.
"It's taking place on the Saturday before the season starts so we're viewing it as a team bonding exercise as well as a chance to play a game, of course."
One player who won't be making the trip, however, is Thomas Moore.
The centre-midfielder joined West Lancashire rivals Burscough this week after Lawson admitted he did did not want to be part of an "auction" for the player.
Lawson said: "Thomas has decided to join Burscough, and, to be honest, I'm disappointed to lose him.
"However, I was not prepared to enter into an auction for him."
