BOWLS enthusiasts took part in a well-contested competition in West Lancashire.
Players from across the district and further afield in Southport, Wirral and Wigan took part in the competition held at Lathom & Burscough Royal British Legion Bowling Club.
Some 32 pairs were involved in the initial stages of the competition over the weekend September 1-2.
And the final eight pairs left in the competition played to a finish on September 15.
Prize money was in excess of £525 paid out down to the losing quarter-finalists.
The winning pair in the competition were Jim Fagan and Darren Evans.
Chairman of Lathom & Burscough Royal British Legion Bowling Club, John Marriott, said: “This competition was watched over the three days by over 100 people and is a very well-established and well-run competition for all crown green bowlers in the local area.”
