AUGHTON Tennis under-12s’ Matt Peterson and Craig Laverty quickly worked out their opponents Max Noble and James Walsh to win 6-2.
Match of the tie was between Danny Pugh and Thomas Pratt and the Crook brothers Cameron and Tom.
The Aughton pairing eventually took the match 7-6 on a tie break.
In the singles Matt Peterson met his match in Max Noble and went down 4-0,4-1.
Craig Laverty is on a roll at the moment and he lost his customary one game whilst defeating James Walsh 4-1,4-0.
Danny Pugh was in magnificent form to a record a 4-0, 4-0 victory against Cameron Crook.
Thomas Pratt won the final game by default as Carlton fielded an ineligable player.

Aughton U 16s travelled to Hillside and came away with an impressive 4-2 victory.
Lewis Hornby started off with a nailbiting game against Tom Flannagan, narrowly losing on a tie break 11-9.
Tom Halsall then defeated Craig Anderson 4-2,3-5.
Tom Peterson put Aughton ahead with a 4-1,5-3 victory against Chris Gerrard.
Next came Andy Cain who is growing in confidence with each match and he won a great battle, Billy Davies on a tie break 10-8.
Hornby and Halsall lost 0-6 to Flanagan and Anderson, then Peterson and Cain rounded off a good mornings work by defeating Gerrard and Davies 11-9 on a tie break.
