HESKETH Bank were due to entertain Millom last Saturday.
However, their Cumbrian opponents had to play an LFA Amateur Shield first round tie which was postponed from the previous Saturday taking preference over league fixtures.
So on a lovely sunny day there was no fixture at the Centenary Sports Ground last Saturday.
Despite this the team remains third in the league with 20 points from nine games although this puts them seven points behind current leaders Norcross & Warbreck who have won all nine of their opening fixtures and four points behind second placed Wyre Villa who have 24 points from 10 games.
Meanwhile the reserves won convincingly in the end, coming from a goal down at the interval to defeat Milnthorpe Corinthians 5-1.
The second half goals coming from Harrison, Hill, Pinckard and a brace from Ascroft.
This coming Saturday the first team will entertain another Cumbrian side with Furness Rovers as the visitors, whilst the reserves travel to Radcliffe to play Stoneclough. Both matches kicks off at 3pm.
