THE goals were flying in as the Tommy Rogers Skelmersdale & District Sunday Football League produced another set of exciting matches.
Tanner 5 Kennel Butty Bar 4
KENNEL BUTTY BAR took an early lead in this game through Fulton after three minutes, but it wasn’t long before Tanner had levelled things up.
Leadbetter then put Kennel back ahead on the half hour mark but again Tanner replied quickly only to see Leadbetter net again to put them 3-2 up at the break.
Tanner played some good football in the second period and levelled the scores again after 59 minutes before taking the lead three minutes later.
Tanner extended their lead with 10 minutes remaining before Kennel grabbed a late consolation.
Toby 2 Highwayman 1
A VERY competitive game played in a great spirit saw some excellent passing throughout the contest.
Toby opened the scoring after a goalless first half and quickly went 2-0 up late in the game before Highwayman nicked a goal in the last minute.
Hare & Hounds 2 Railway Tavern 1
ANOTHER decent game of football by two very competitive teams.
Dale Sealey gave Hares the lead after 12 minutes with a great finish only to see that lead pegged back by A. Bowen on the half-hour.
The second-half was played in difficult conditions with the low sun making visibility poor but it was Hares who eventually ran out worthy winners when Ash Dinely grabbed the winner after 53 minutes.
Village 1 Elm House 1
THIS was a very evenly matched contest with both teams playing some excellent football.
Paul Morgan gave Elm House the lead after 22 minutes and they rode their luck in the first-half to see them lead at the break.
The second-half saw defences coming out on top but Village eventually got the equaliser their play deserved when Jay James levelled a minute from time.
Ashworth A The Duck A
THE DUCK started this game well taking the lead after six minutes through Chesworth, with John Anderson adding a second five minutes later.
Liam Smith made it 3-0 after 26 minutes before Chesworth added his second 10 minutes later.
The game was frustratingly abandoned after 38 minutes.
