Away wins dominate in Skelmersdale Intermediate League

THERE were goals aplenty and lots of exciting action in the latest round of matches in the Skelmersdale Intermediate League this weekend, as things begin to hot up in the league title race.

AFC Liverpool were one side who enjoyed a very productive Saturday afternoon, as they picked up a comprehensive 5-0 win over the hapless Holy Rosary Hornets, an excellent result for the Reds, who were in swashbuckling form throughout and thoroughly merited their five-goal triumph.

Mitch FC were also in impressive form, as they won 3-1 away from home at Blue Anchor, who were ultimately left disappointed despite a more than competitive performance.

There was also an eye-catching away win for West Lancs Colts, who beat Halsall 4-1 on the road, another superb result for the Colts, who are proving a force to be reckoned with this season.

And continuing the away day theme were Waddicar, who recorded a fine 3-1 success at Harlequin, making it three away wins out of four on the day. Waddicar.

Results:AFC Liverpool 5 Holy Rosary Hornets 0, Blue Anchor 1 Mitch FC 3, Halsall 1 West Lancs Colts 4, Harlequin 1 Waddicar 3
