The Holt progress after extra time in LCFA Intermediate Cup

THE HOLT have booked their place in the third round of the LCFA Intermediate Cup after a 5-2 win over Duck Athletic.

The Holt needed extra time to do so, following a last minute switch which allowed the game to take place.

Holt started the game very well and scored twice inside the opening 15 minutes through Rob Monteith and Liam Melia.

The second period saw a spirited fightback from The Duck as they found goals from Daley Connolly and Lee Chesworth to take the tie into extra time.

The Holt had too much in reserve during the extra duration and two further goals from Alex Venables. either side of a Mike Ward strike saw them into the next round.

In the Premier League the game of the day came as Hare and Hounds beat Kennelwood Butty Bar 3-2.

Hares took the lead after 12 minutes through Dale Sealey’s fine header. However Mike Mullary netted a penalty to level the scores.

Kennelwood went ahead with a fine goal from Wilson only to see

Hares level things up through Lewis Johnson. Just as

the game seemed destined for a draw, up popped Sealey with a ;late wonder strike to seal

victory for the Hares.

Elsewhere, Elm House and Village Inn played out a cracking 3-3 draw, whilst Railway handed out a 5-2 beatin to Highwayman.

Toby enjoyed a dozen of the best as they put Ashworth to the sword, winning 12-1.
