BICKERSTAFFE’S first team found themselves playing fellow title contenders Gidlow Athletic in Wigan on a very heavy pitch.

Both sides needed all three points and Bickerstaffe did the business winning 2-1, with goals from Shaun Cox and John Carter to maintain their top of the table position.
