ORMSKIRK Schools Under 13 girls’ football team have matched the achievements of the under 16 girls in reaching the English Schools National Quarter Finals.
The English Schools competition is entered by hundreds of schools across England and provides opportunities for young people to have the experience of playing at a higher level by representing their schools in a national recognised competition with all of the finals taking place at a professional stadium.
Along the way to the quarter finals Ormskirk have beaten Ellesmere Port Catholic High School 8-0, Westleigh High School 8-1, Denton Community College 6-1, North Liverpool Academy 2-0, Ashton On Mersey School 2-0, and St Bede's RC High School 3-0.
They play Mirfield Free Grammar School, West Yorkshire for a place in the semi-finals next week.
The girls should be extremely proud of their achievements, having been one of 300 schools who entered the competition they are down to the last eight!
The team have such a great attitude and always want to play their best, they are determined to win and give it everything. Our aim is to continue to progress through the competition and with the strength of the team we stand every chance.
