Tommy Rogers Skelmersdale & District Sunday Football League

Hare & Hounds 0 Kennelwood Butty Bar 1

THIS WAS a truly fantastic Tommy Rogers cup tie played in a fantastic but competitive spirit. The tie could have gone either way with neither sides’ normally reliable talisman firing on all cylinders.

The deciding goal came in the last 10 minutes of the game as both sides looked to be settling for extra time, Man of the Match M. Mulrooney played in D. Maher who found the net in the 80th minute to see Kennelwood into the semi-finals.

The Tanner 3 Duck Athletic 4

AN EVENLY matched encounter between two very evenly matched teams, Fallows opening the scoring after two minutes to put Tanner ahead and despite a glut of chances at both ends the half ended 1-0.

Duck levelled the scores after two minutes of play in the second period, Fogg netting the equaliser with a great finish before Johnson added a second after 55 minutes to put them ahead 2-1.

The game was now really open and swung from end to end as the teams traded goals, two from King for The Tanner after 62 and 78 minutes either side of strikes from Fogg and Power after 70 and 75 saw The Duck into the next round.

Toby 5 Highwayman 1

TOBY took an early lead in this game through S. Glynn after eight minutes and never looked back as they assumed control in the first half.

A. Rimmer and M. Ryan added another two after 19 and 28 minutes before S. Judge made it 4-0 just before half time.

Highwayman rallied briefly early in the second period and found the net through K. Wall after 51 minutes but it was their only real breakthrough and Toby re-asserted with another goal in the dying moments from Man of the Match Judge.

Railway Tavern 8 The Elm House 0

THE FIRST 45 on this tie was really close until A. Storey found the opening goal in the 19th minute and this seemed to knock the stuffing out of Elm House.

The second period was pretty much one way traffic as the goals rained in from Railway, M. Byrne weighed in with two on 65 and 70 as did C. Bloomfield after 67 and 72 with A. Storey completing his hat trick with a brace after 46 and 83 and A. Murray adding another on 75.
