BICKERSTAFFE first team found themselves playing Ince Central at Hall Lane in the first leg of round one of the Whitehead Cup.
They were expecting a fairly easy game taking into account the 6-2 thrashing they had given the same opponents in a recent league clash.
Cup matches, however are a different matter, and Bickerstaffe struggled to earn a 1-1 draw.
Bickerstaffe opened the scoring thanks to some brilliant teamwork from the forwards to enable Cox to score in the 35th minute.
In the second half both sides had chances with Bickerstaffe missing the easier ones only for Ince to score with 10 minutes left from a cracker of a header to earn a creditable draw.
The second leg is at Ince this weekend.
