HURLSTON Hall have claimed a notable hat-trick of trophies for both the men’s and women’s teams.
Representatives of the Ormskirk club won the Lancashire Union’s Bell and Collinge trophies at Royal Lytham & St Annes.
Eight handicapper Mark Rimmer and Ian Kinsey, who plays off 14, totted up 38 stableford points in the Bell to prevail by one from Worsley pair Frederick Nelson and Edward Mellor.
Despite a treble bogey on the last hole, 13 handicapper Michael Dixon ensured a clean sweep for the Ormskirk club when he posted a nett 76 to win the Collinge.
Runner-up, three shots adrift, was Phil Glover, from Widnes, who plays off one.
The ladies were chasing a second victory in three years at Lancashire Ladies’ Interclub Bronze Trophy played at Rochdale GC.
Andy they came out on top again with a score of 95 Stableford points, just two more than the host club.
Late starters Hurlston, who played mainly in the rain, got off to a good start with Alison Croft's 34 points. She was helped by good scores from teammates Elaine Watson and Alison Wood.
The Lancashire Girls team beat the Lancashire Boys team in the annual match played at Woolton GC.
Although the Boys team led by a point after the morning foursomes, the girls took six and a half out of eight points from the singles matches to win convincingly 8-4.
