HALTON Hawks Power Wheelchair Football team completed a league and cup double by winning the Andrew Jones Memorial Cup held at Maghull High School.
The event is organised annually by Everton in the Community and is held in memory of Matthew Jones.
Matthew was a keen wheelchair footballer who was instrumental in starting and developing the sport across Merseyside.
Halton Hawks participated in a round robin competition against teams from Maghull and Woodchurch (Wirral) and won the event with two wins and two draws.
Mark Eccleston, Halton’s disability sport development officer, said: “The Matthew Jones Memorial Cup is an important and prestigious event that Halton Hawks have proudly participated in for the past three years.
“It is a competition we always aspire to do well in and we are delighted.”
