DEREK GOULDING believes Jordan Williams is recapturing the form he showed in the early part of the season, and has tipped the youngster to finish the campaign strongly.
Williams netted a hat-trick as the Linnets beat Salford City 4-3 on Saturday, taking his goals tally for the season to 14 in the process.
Having started the season in fabulous form, the talented forward suffered something of a dip during the Autumn.
Goulding, though, believes he is getting back to his best now.
He said: “Jordan came back in the summer, and he started the season really well. He had a bit of a drop in form, but he has picked back up in recent games.
“He's got a lot of potential. He's still learning the game, but games like Saturday, and scoring goals like he did, will only help him. His confidence is up now, and I think we will get a really strong end to the season from him.
“If he gets back to the level he was at at the start of the season, we will have a really good player on our hands.”
Goulding was encouraged by his side's performance in the victory at Salford, though they needed a 90th minute winner from Williams to secure all three points.
“The scoreline didn't really reflect the game, in truth,” Goulding said. “Apart from maybe a 20-minute spell, we dominated and were in control.
“Goals change games, and once they got to 3-2, then we were on edge. Thankfully we popped up late on with the goal, because our performance deserved the points.”
The win means Burscough have now picked up more points on the road than at home this season.
