TWO players hit hole-in-ones on the same day in the winter league pairs competition at Hurlston Hall Golf Club in Scarisbrick.
Tony Williams who had his first hole in one in July last year had his second on the 16th hole.
The fourball comprised of his playing partner Michael Dixon and they were playing against Irene Traynor and John Spears who incidentally won the game. Tony’s shot was with a 7 iron.
Tony is a founder member of Hurlston Hall.
The second hole in one celebration was for John F Davies. His ace was on the 12th which he played a 4 rescue wood. He is only new to golf joining Hurlston Hall in 2007 and holds a handicap of 28. John couldn’t believe it.
He and his playing partner Tom Ainscough beat Alan Bate & John Bungey.
Meanwhile, the Captain John Walker and Lady Captain Val Griffiths have worked extremely hard during their year of captaincy raising funds just above £4,000 with the support of members of Hurlston Hall Golf Club for their nominated charity “Legacy Rainbow House”. Also as per previous years the club raised over £400 at the Support Our Soldiers Charity Competition which is held annually in October.
