Euxton Girls 1 Skem Athletic 7LOOKING sharp and refreshed, Skem didn’t take long to open the scoring against Euxton Girls, going 1-0 ahead after only four minutes and adding a second minutes later.
Skem went on to dominate the play in the first period, enjoying the majority of possession, coupled with great movement on and off the ball.
Athletic continued to press the Euxton defence, firing home a third goal shortly before the break, going into half time a comfortable 3-0 ahead.
Well into their stride, Skem continued to mount relentless attacks on the Euxton back line in the second period, adding a fourth goal to their tally early on.
Against the run of play, Euxton pulled a well taken goal back, making the score 4-1 to the visitors.
With renewed focus, coupled with a strong and resolute defensive back line, Athletic surged forward with pace, gathering momentum with every attack and while both wingers added an excellent dimension to the play, the strikers capitalised, scoring a further three goals before the final whistle to seal a great team performance for Skem Athletic.
