Pen woe for Skem

WITH key players missing Skem had their work cut out for them as Burford took the upper hand.

But a much improved Skem defence of Sammy Eaton, Hannah and Sophie kept them at bay and giving goalie Kerri-Ann very little to do.

In the second half Skem changed gear and it was Holly Porter and Dani Sumner who opened up the game and gave Burford a scare, a well struck shot by Emma Abbott saw a finger tip save pushed out for a corner from which Rachel Brier curled the ball in finding Amy Weston who slotted a well deserved goal.

Skem thought they had it sewn up, but with a minute to go Burford equalised. No girl wanted or needed a penalty shoot out, but heroes came forward but to their dismay it didn't go Skems way.
