MITCH FC played two football matches at Glenburn School on Saturday in support of Millie Heaton.
Millie is a little girl, aged 20 months, who has been diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma and is undergoing treatment at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
The first match was between Mitch under-16s and Dynamo Rangers under-15s. The encounter ended in a 3-0 win for Rangers.
The second match was an internal clash with Mitch under-18s taking on Mitch open age which resulted in a 5-2 win for the under-18s.
Each player obtained sponsorship to play and together with sales of food and gate entry, the event raised in excess of £1000.
Joanne Heaton, Millie’s great aunt, said: “I am amazed at the support the family are receiving and would like to thank all at Mitch FC for their hard work on the day, and the Skelmersdale Intermediate League for the organisation of the day.”
