Ormskirk Beer Festival to run for a second year

The event is back to coincide with the World Cup

The regulars at Ormskirk Rugby Club

There is only a month to go before the second annual Ormskirk Beer Festival hosted at Ormskirk Rugby Club on Green Lane. The event is organised to coincide with the first football World Cup game England against Italy.

On Friday evening there will be a preview evening from 7pm until 11pm. Then on Saturday the Beer Festival opens at noon and will continue until 1am the next morning to be able to show the football live on TV.

As well as a great choice of beers and ciders on offer, there will be a range of other events including the very popular ‘Fancy Dress Rugby 7s’ competition which was won last year by the team of ‘Mr Incredibles’.

In addition, Halliwell Jones BMW, who are the main sponsors of the rugby club, will have cars on display and a fun ‘pull a Mini’ competition with raffles and prizes, as well as hot food and snacks being on sale throughout the day.

Beer Festival organiser Alistair Wade said: “We really established this event as the main annual Beer Festival in the town. We have been kindly helped and supported by Love Ormskirk and Burscough Brewery. The event is open to everyone and we are looking forward to a great day for all the family.
