Andrea Bocelli will play the ECHO arena in November as part of a four-night tour of the UK and Ireland.
The tenor will visit Liverpool on November 18, performing songs from his new album Passione, alongside his best-known numbers from the repertoire that helped to make him the biggest-selling classical solo artist of all time.
The tour will enable Bocelli to bring both the "intimacy and the grandeur of operatic masterpieces to UK and Ireland arenas for a night of musical celebration".
Bocelli has sold over 80 million albums around the world. His 1999 album Sacred Arias sold over five million copies, making it the best-selling classical music album of all time. He has performed for four US presidents, two popes and the Royal Family, and at opening ceremonies for the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup.
A master of crossing the boundaries between classical and pop music, Bocelli manages to keep both sides of his repertoire as separate disciplines. His most famous hit, a duet with Sarah Brightman called Time to Say Goodbye, reached the top of the charts around the world when it was released in 1998, but it is classical music that remains his true calling.
The new album, Passione, was recorded at Bocelli's home on the Tuscan coast with Grammy award-winning producer David Foster. The album harks back to Bocelli's pre-fame days, when he would sing in his local bars and take requests from a captive audience, which ranged from classic Italian and Neapolitan songs, to pop hits such as Elvis's Love Me Tender.
The November shows will also feature two special guests - a soprano to accompany Bocelli through his classical back catalogue, and a pop star to help him showcase his more mainstream hits.
Tickets for Andrea Bocelli at the ECHO arena will go on sale on Friday at 9am. To book tickets, visit www.echoarena.com or call the ECHO arena box office on 0844 8000 400
