WHAT’S all this Insider hears about Reds captain Steven Gerrard planning to swap clubs?
Social media has been all in a flap with reports that England and Liverpool’s main man was considering making a move into DJing when he hangs up his boots.
Rumour had it that the 33-year-old was lining up a second career after a successful stint on the decks in Garlands.
But those who witnessed his last venture onto the decks are just as baffled as presumably the man himself is about the speculation. Although they do have an invitation for Captain Fantastic just in case ...
Sources at Carry On Miss-Behavin’ at Garlands, quoted in the original article, tell Insider they have no idea where it came from and that DJ Stevie G hasn’t made a guest appearance since not long after his European Cup lifting duties.
“He was actually here one Sunday in 2006 with Peter Crouch and Steve Finnan and he got up after a bet with Crouch,” they explain. “He asked if he could have a go, Jed Clark announced him on the mic and then Lil John showed him what to do.
“He played two tracks, by Herd & Fitz and Antoine Clamaran, and he did OK but we haven’t seen him up there since.”
The guys at Carry On Miss-Behavin are guessing that he’s been a bit on the busy side lately, what with captaincy of two teams, a Premiership title race, the World Cup and three girls (four if you count Alex) at home.
They’re happy to help, though, if Stevie really does have designs on a DJing future.
“We’ve got our Mother’s Day Special on this Sunday at Garlands from 10pm and Liverpool are at home to Spurs so we’re going to invite him back,” adds our source. “We’re all Reds, so hopefully he’ll have something to celebrate.”
