Ray Peacock, appearing at the Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club on Saturday, May 3.

THE Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club at The Atkinson’s Studio offers a raucous evening of entertainment and endeavours to brings the best live stand-up to Southport, featuring comedians off the telly from such shows as BBC2’s Mock The Week, Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats, BBC1’s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and QI amongst others. In addition to TV regulars, there’ll be comics on the brink of stardom. Previously, they’ve booked the likes of Jason Manford, John Bishop and Sarah Millican before they hit the big time. Your MC is Damion Larkin, renowned for being a spontaneous and loveable host.

The next Laugh Out Loud Club night is on Saturday, May 3 when Ray Peacock will be performing. Ray is one of the most in demand compères , headline performers and TV warm up acts on the circuit. Amongst many other shows, Ray has most recently provided regular warm up for Russell Howard’s Good News, The I.T Crowd, Friday Night with Jonathon Ross and The Graham Norton Show.

“Immaculately funny” is how Time Out described him.

Also performing is Andy Askins, a diminutive figure who exudes an air of vulnerability and an innocent child like quality as he steps up to the microphone armed with a guitar and a cheeky grin. It’s an overwhelmingly misleading demeanour which serves to heighten the impact of the killer lines that he delivers. The Stage described his show as “Dark humour with faultless timing”.

Sam Avery is also on the bill. This friendly and enthusiastic Scouse joke machine wanted to be a rock star and it nearly happened, but he turned to stand up and his breezy, observational style has been putting audiences instantly at ease allowing him to regale them with his tales of everyday life.

Tickets are £12.50 (£15.00 door) or you can get a season ticket for just £30 (book for any 3 comedy nights). http://www.theatkinson.co.uk/
